To mark America Recycles Day 2023, City residents are encouraged to take part, or support, the following programs. Let’s continue to support and promote these recycling programs as we reaffirm our commitment to building a more prosperous and healthier City of Buffalo.” I am proud of the variety of programs my Administration has put in place that continue to make a difference in our community, from single stream recycling and community shredding events to recycling and repurposing textiles, to our newly expanded food waste collection program. In Buffalo, recycling is alive, well, cost effective and good for the environment. Mayor Brown said, “America Recycles Day is a great opportunity for us to educate and encourage City residents to keep on recycling, a necessary component of a sustainable environment. The program was founded by Keep America Beautiful in 1997 and is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. America Recycles Day is Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Brown today issued a reminder to City residents about a month of environmentally friendly events taking place in Buffalo in recognition of America Recycles Day.
